JOB DESCRIPTION InstaDeep is looking for a computational geneticist with expertise using multi-omics data, to join our expanding BioAI team in London, UK or Paris, France (all levels are encouraged to apply) to help develop and implement computational biology tools and software to support InstaDeep’s DeepChain platform as well as client projects in the domain of human genomics and disease risk prediction. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES - Deliver high-quality research and engineering in the domain of human genomics as part of multi-disciplinary collaborative teams. - Develop pipelines to process, assess quality control and analyze omics data, including NGS, transcriptomic and epigenetic data. - Design and execute statistical analyses to integrate genetics and omics data with machine learning algorithms. - Use publicly available functional genomics resources to support internal research and development. - Think outside-of-the-box and constantly question the status quo. - Present research results on a regular basis, both internally and externally, and keep up with the scientific literature. - Won’t do easy, approach new problems with enthusiasm, and be proud of your work. REQUIREMENTS - Ph.D. in statistical genetics, functional genomics, computational biology, or related field or masters degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience. - Expert knowledge in genomics and experience with integrating public resources such as UCSC Genome Browser, Open Targets, GTEx, Roadmap, - ENCODE, Human Protein/Cell Atlas into ready-to-use workflows. - Strong Python coding and bash shell scripting skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. - Detective-level attention to detail and self-discipline that others would love. NICE TO HAVE - Experience with GWAS analyses, Polygenic Risk Scores, and variant prioritization. - Familiarity with commonly used software packages for RNA-seq data processing and QTL mapping. - Experience with machine learning and AI tools applied to biology research. - Publication record in the field of genetics or functional genomics.
